FRONT VIEW / DESIGN
A MARK YOU
CAN FEEL.
Layered cloth and visible stitches create the focal point.
01 / 06
Build the graphic from material.
A fractured oval of bone, oxblood and charcoal cloth sits on the navy body. Exposed edges and visible cream attachment stitches give the motif depth, while a smaller sleeve detail continues the material story. The design relies on the contrast between soft base fabric and applied woven pieces rather than a printed imitation of stitches. Your brand can develop a different outline, cloth combination and thread palette while keeping the same focus on dimensional artwork.
APPLIQUÉ OR EMBROIDERY
Appliqué uses applied fabric pieces. Embroidered accents are an additional design choice, with stitch density and placement reviewed separately.
LAYERED DETAIL
Specify the shape and material of each appliqué piece, then review edge treatment, stitch direction and bulk on the sample.

BACK VIEW / DETAILS
SMALL DETAIL.
SAME LANGUAGE.
A compact back patch echoes the front through cloth and thread.
02 / 06
Use the same materials at a smaller scale.
A narrow bone patch and a short oxblood cross stitch beneath the hood give the reverse a restrained signature. The large front oval is not repeated, allowing the navy back and dropped shoulder line to remain clear. Even a small patch needs defined dimensions, edge treatment and placement. Check the detail with the hood resting down and review the inside attachment so the back decoration remains comfortable as well as visually balanced.
INSIDE FINISH
Specify how threads and backing are finished on the inside, especially where the garment contacts the wearer.
INDEPENDENT ARTWORK
Provide the back detail separately; reducing the large front motif is not the only way to create continuity.

FIT STUDY / 03
SHAPE WITH
SUBSTANCE.
- BASE FABRICSelect weight and stability with the applied cloth.
- CHEST SPACELeave clearance above the pocket and below the neck.
- SLEEVE FITKeep the arm patch clear of restricted movement.
- HEM BALANCEReview the decorated garment's drape.
03 / 06
Support the weight of the artwork.
The broad chest gives the appliqué room, but the base fabric also needs to support the combined weight of the cloth pieces and stitches. A soft lightweight body and a dense rigid patch can pull against each other. Define the hoodie fabric, patch materials and fit together, then assess the complete decorated sample. Hood volume, shoulder drop, sleeve width and hem rib should balance the chest motif without restricting movement.
FIT AFTER DECORATION
Check pulling, stiffness and the way the chest hangs after the appliqué has been attached.
SIZE DEVELOPMENT
Agree whether patch dimensions remain fixed across sizes or change with the graded chest measurements.

MATERIAL & CRAFT / 04
CUT. LAYER.
SECURE.
- PATCH MAPIdentify cloth, overlaps and finished outlines.
- ATTACHMENTConfirm stitch type, position and thread color.
- BACKINGReview stability and inside comfort.
04 / 06
Define how every edge is secured.
The closeup focuses on overlapping fabric, intentional fraying and cream attachment stitches. A raw-edge appearance still needs an agreed construction standard. Review patch material, overlap, stitch position, thread and any backing together. If embroidered accents are included, their density and stabilizer must suit the selected base fabric. Sample the full combination to assess puckering, edge security, surface feel and the result after the agreed washing procedure.
CONTROLLED RAW EDGE
Specify the intended fray length and appearance. Uncontrolled loose edges should not be treated as an automatic design feature.
SAMPLE CHECK
Approve base and patch shrinkage compatibility, stitch tension and puckering on the physical sample before bulk confirmation.

ON-BODY / 05
TEXTURE WITH
PRESENCE.
A coordinated sleeve detail carries the design beyond the front.
05 / 06
Let texture remain visible at outfit scale.
The navy silhouette holds its shape against pale concrete, while the bone and oxblood appliqué remains legible from a distance. The side angle also reveals the smaller sleeve element without hiding the chest. For a brand collection, this offers a material-led alternative to a large flat print. Use the styled view to assess proportion and visual balance, then use the physical sample to judge handfeel, patch flexibility and everyday comfort.
MOVEMENT REVIEW
Bend the arm and reach forward during fitting to assess stiffness or pulling around the sleeve patch.
BRAND ADAPTATION
Develop your own shapes and material combinations. Keep the main appliqué readable when the hood is down and the garment is worn naturally.

BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR BRIEF
What is the difference between appliqué and embroidery?
Appliqué attaches cut fabric shapes to the garment; embroidery creates artwork with stitches. They can be combined, but each requires its own material, placement and construction specification.
Can I customize the patch fabric and raw-edge finish?
Yes. Send patch fabric, edge and stitch references with your artwork. We review compatibility with the hoodie base and develop a sample to assess edge security, puckering, drape and the agreed wash result.
What should I send for an appliqué hoodie quotation?
Send separate outlines and finished dimensions for each patch, front/back/sleeve placement, patch and base materials, stitch and backing references, measurements, quantity, labels and packaging requirements. A detailed quotation follows review.
